Troubleshooting Spacer/Sleeve Fitting of Roadmaster D-Ring Adapter Not Fitting

Question:
How are you supposed to get the spacer to go into the d-ring on the bumper? I have a 1 inch hole but need to the 7/8 spacer and it is extremely tight does not want to go with a hammer

The spacer should not fit THAT tight. Is the hole on your bumper corroded or have anything built up in it that would prevent the spacer from sliding through? You might take a round file and remove any casting imperfections in the D-ring hole to allow the sleeve to fit.
