Is There a Baggage Door Handle for a U-Shaped Striker

Question:

This model uses and what appears to be standard slam latches for the baggage compartments. The slam latch is not mounted on the lower lip of the door. Instead it is mounted just below Center. The result is that a strike plate is not used to latch the door. Instead a component that consists of a steel rod bent into an Offset U shape acts as a striker for this model. See the attached picture for details. I cannot find a vendor for these Strikers. Do you have them?

I do have an option for you but I do not believe we have any sort of door latch that will work with the u-shaped striker you have on your trailer. As I am sure you are aware, this is not a standard design. However, what we do have for you is the Lippert Components Standard Baggage Door Latch Kit part # LC317649 which comes with the striker plate that you need. Therefore, this is what I recommend you use. It will most likely take a bit of modifying to replace the u-shaped striker with the plate included with the kit but this will be your best option and it will end your search. I wish we had exactly what you needed.
