Question:

I have a 2019 Keystone Cougar 5th wheel with twin 3inch tube axle. I dont have the 4inch clearance from the inside of the tire to the flange. I have about 2-1/2. Can these be mounted to the inside of the leaf springs instead.

The Lippert Components Bolt-On Shock Kit w/ Heavy Duty Gas Shocks - 5,200-lb to 7,000-lb (3") Axle # LC281281 are designed to be installed so that they are as directly aligned as possible. The vertical tilt is desired, but a horizontal tilt is not for best result. It can be done as shown in the attached photo, but it not ideal.

Instead I recommend the Roadmaster Comfort Ride Shock Absorbers for Tandem Axle Trailers - 5,200-lb to 7,000-lb Axle # RM-2460 which are designed for that inside of frame fit with brackets suited for that fit. I've attached a video and installation instructions to assist.
