Question:

I have a 2016 Ford C-Max that I am setting up for Flat Tow. My previous flat tow vehicle was a 2010 Jeep Liberty. My Motorhome is a Monaco Diplomat. My question is on the Supplemental Brake System, I already have the RM9100 that I used with my Jeep, however I was not using a Brake Away System, which I now want to install. The instructions look straight forward, but I have 2 questions. First, can you recommend a good location to install the Reservoir in the engine compartment of a C-Max and 2, do I need a brake pressure equalizing valve / pressure reducer, etc with a C-Max.

It is definitely a smart idea to use the BrakeAway Kit # RM-8600 with your Roadmaster BrakeMaster although there is not necessarily a recommended spot we can offer to install the reservoir in a 2016 Ford C-Max. We have not had a chance to install this specific part in this specific vehicle, but I took a look at the owner's manual and since the air lines do need to be two feet away from a heat source like the engine, your best bet is off to the right (if you are facing the front of the car). The manual's diagram was top-down though so you'll need to check the amount of space in that compartment.

In regards to the RoadMaster Brake Pressure Reducer for BrakeMaster # RM-900002, that is only designed for vehicles with active or continuous power assist brakes, and it does not look like a 2016 Ford C-Max uses those type of brakes, though you will want to verify this.

There are a couple parts you are going to need with your BrakeMaster, the Roadmaster Stop Light Switch Kit - Ford # RM-751459 and the Roadmaster BrakeMaster Custom Seat Adapter # RM-88295.
