I reached out to my contact at Draw-Tite who said that the top of the receiver for the Draw-Tite Max-E-Loader # 41504 sits about 7-3/8" below the frame of your 2001 Dodge Ram Pickup. Attached is a photo for you to reference as well as the installation instructions.
