Question:

I am looking for a bike rack to attach to my RPod over the propane and battery. I do not want to mount bike to spare as I have seen them bounce off.. I am looking at the Stromberg CC-275. several questions. 1. I shows in can mount to 14-52...is this range or the only two widths? 2. It shows a capacity of 100 lbs. Does this include the weight of the bike rack? 3. Can use my Thule requiring a 2inch receiver? 4. What else is important for me to know? Thanks.

The Stromberg Carlson Bike Bunk Trailer-Mounted Bike Rack Carrier for A-Frame Trailers - 2"-100 lbs # CC-275 can fit any widths between 12 inches and 52 inches. The bars rotate so they are compatible with any width between but that will move the receiver either slightly forward or slightly back from the frame mounts.

It can hold 100 lbs which will include the weight of the bike carrier. For instance the Swagman Trailhead # S63381 will take 32 lbs leaving 68 lbs for your bikes. You will want to note that because it is on a trailer, only bike racks rated for towable camper use will be compatible under warranty. With this bike rack, I recommend the Anti-Rattle Hitch Lock and Cable for Swagman Bike Racks w/ 2" Shanks - 8-1/2' Long # S64030

I've linked the page to the options that are rated for use with this rack on your R-Pod towable camper. Unfortunately there are not any Thule bike racks compatible with a towable trailer application.

There are other options like the Jack-It 2 Bike Rack for A-Frame Trailers # LC429756 which fits on the trailer jack mounting holes or the Swagman Straddler - 2-Bike Carrier for A-Frame Trailers # S80503 which adjusts from 10-1/2 inches to 31 inch frames. It has the same 100 lb capacity.
