You didn't mention what year your Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk is, but based on the info you gave me I was able to determine that your vehicle is flat-towable as-is as long as you follow the prescribed towing procedures in the owners manual of the vehicle. Since you have the Active Drive II that means you have 4 wheel drive which is the big factor in whether or not the vehicle is flat towable. The 2 wheel drive versions of the vehicle can only be towed on a tow dolly like the Roadmaster part # RM-2050-1.

Since your Cherokee has 4 wheel drive or the Active Drive II system, to maintain the vehicle's stable steering while being flat towed you will want to install the Mopar accessory kit 68321424AB, available from your Jeep dealer. This kit will prevent the Cherokee's steering from shaking while being flat towed.
