Towing Capacity of 2017 Toyota Sienna LE with Tow Package

Question:

How do I know if my van has a tow package? It is a 2017 Sienna LE. I have read that Xle has it but I cant find if my LE does. Thanks

There are a few ways you can determine all of the specific equipment on any given vehicle, including "tow package" components. One is by having a local dealership run the vehicle's VIN which will show all of the factory-installed components.

I checked Toyota's online data for the 2017 Sienna and in the specifications section there is a listing of all 8 of the versions of this van, the L, LE, SE, SE Premium, XLE, XLE Premium and the Limited and Limited Premium. This information indicates that the Sienna's tow package includes an engine oil cooler, heavy-duty radiator and heavy-duty fan. The maximum towable weight for any of these versions is the same, 3500-lbs. The Toyota document I reviewed suggests the tow package is standard on the LE, but I recommend confirming with your dealer.

The term "tow package" can mean different things for one vehicle than for another. One auto maker may use that term to indicate the presence of a hitch and wiring harness; another may use the term to denote other special equipment such as the oil cooler and higher-capacity cooling system found in the Sienna. There is no fixed definition for that term so checking with the dealership using the VIN is the preferred way to confirm capabilities.

If you need a hitch the one I recommend is the Draw-Tite Max-Frame # 75237. This offers a higher weight rating and easier installation than hitch # 76112 that you referenced.
