Both of our hitches for your 2010 Honda Civic Hybrid will require you to possibly enlarge access holes and will require minor heat shield trimming. This isn't anything drastic that would require you to take it somewhere for installation as you will be able to install the hitch by yourself. I recommend using a rotary tool for enlarging the hole if needed. You can trim the heat shield if needed with tin snips or a rotary tool with cutting wheel. This fits 2006 to 2015 hybrid models, so it is likely the referenced modifications were on different model years.

My recommendation for you is the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class I - 1-1/4" # C11391. This Curt hitch requires use of a stability strap # 18050 for any non-trailer load like a bike rack or cargo carrier based on Curt's warranty.

I've attached the installation instructions as well as a video to assist.
