Parts Needed to Flat Tow a 2019 Mini Clubman w/Manual Transmission

To flat tow any vehicle you would need a base plate kit, tow bar, safety cables, vehicle wiring, a supplemental braking system, and possibly a high-low adapter. Most of the equipment is generic but the base plate kit is specific. As of right now (January 2019) the only base plate kit that has been confirmed to fit a 2019 Mini Clubman is the Blue Ox # BX1315 and it is only compatible with S models of the Clubman.

I tried looking up the online version of your owner's manual but I couldn't find anything in it stating that you actually can flat tow a 2019 Clubman. I highly recommend checking with your nearest dealership to see if it is okay to flat tow your vehicle.

If you get the okay to do this then I recommend using the Alpha Tow Bar # BX7380 which also comes with safety cables. Then for wiring I recommend either the Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit # RM-15267 which is easy to setup after the initial install or the Roadmaster Magnetic Tow Lights # RM-2120. I attached an install video for the # RM-2120.

When it comes to braking systems, I highly recommend going with the Air Force One # SM99243 if your motorhome has air brakes or the Stay-IN-Play DUO # SM99251 if your motorhome has hydraulic brakes because these are very easy to setup after the initial installation and they activate the brakes on your Clubman in proportion to the brakes on your motorhome for smooth braking action.

Then since most flat towing setups require a high-low adapter for the tow bar to remain level while towing. I have linked our selection of adapters for you to check out as well as an article that will help you determine which is the best one for your application.

Again, please consult your nearest dealer to ensure that it is safe for you to flat tow your Clubman. some previous models you could only dolly tow them. If this is the case then we have the Roadmaster # RM-2050-1 which comes with everything you need aside from the connector to your motorhome wiring. For a 6-Way you can use part # PK11604 or for a 7-Way use part # PK12706.
