Question:

Just installed the blue ox baseplate we got from you on our 2019 Ram. That part worked great. Now were looking at the wiring. We have a kit but the truck has LED tail lights. Do we probe the tail lights to determine which wires do what and then treat them like they were Bulbs? I did a 2015 EDGE with LED taillights last year and had to use 50 ohm diodes in order to make the tail lights work.

When wiring up your 2019 Ram 1500 so that it accepts the signal lights from your RV, you will indeed need to probe/test the wiring behind the tail lights for function to ensure you are making the correct connections. The process should not be any different for your truck's LEDs than with standard incandescent bulbs.

If you already have a wiring kit and it does not include diodes, these will still need to be added to prevent feedback to the RV. We do have diodes available with part # RM-792.

Otherwise for a complete kit that includes the needed diodes I recommend the Roadmaster Diode Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit # RM-15267.
