Question:

Hello - I have a 2014 X3 with no flush rails. Its a bare roof with rubber running down the rain gutter on the roof. What I dont know is if I need clamps, like the Rhino 2500, or if there are fixed mounts under the rubber running down the gutter. Any sense from your experience with this model?

The type of roof setup you describe having on your 2014 BMW X3, rubber rain gutter strips but no rails, will use roof racks made for the naked roof configuration. The clamp-on type system from Rhino-Rack that you referenced, parts # RRVA126B-2, # RRRLKVA and # DK295, is confirmed to fit. I verified this with Rhino-Rack. You can refer to the linked install video showing an X5 to see installation.

If you wish you can check with a local BMW dealership for details on what fixtures, if any, are under that rubber strip on your roof.
