Is There a Manual Override for the Pop & Lock Custom Tailgate Lock on a 2019 Honda Ridgeline

I really like the idea of this product as I just got a 2019 Ridgeline.....However, what happens if and when it fails...electrical or whatever. If it is in the locked position when it decides to not work, you are really stuck. There is no manual override and the only way to fix it would be to take the tailgate apart again. But, since you need to lower the tailgate to do that, you cant...because its locked. I think I will wait for the Honda retrofit manual kit to come out.

There is no manual override on the Pop & Lock Custom Tailgate Lock part # PAL8600 you are correct. However, you can pair this with the Manual Lock w/ Handle for Pop & Lock Custom Powered Tailgate Lock part # PL6250 to obtain a fail safe.
Please note, the above options will not work if you have a factory locking tailgate handle.
