How to Raise a Trailer with Axle Flip Kit Already Installed

Updated 12/28/2018 | Published 12/27/2018

Question:

i just bought a 2018 ram 2500 4x4 and my 2014 jayco eagle 275 sets to low. dealer lowered the hitch but it still sets to low in rear and not enough clearance between truck bed and camper. the axles are already fliped or on bottom of springs. can i safely raise trailer height with blocks between springs and axle. r

Helpful Expert Reply:

If the loft on your 2014 Jayco Eagle HT 27.5RLTS does not have at least 5-6" of clearance above the bedsides on your 2018 Ram 2500 then you will need to raise the trailer which if adjustments to the 5th wheel hitch, adjustments to the pin box, and flipping the axle did not provide then you can install a of lift block between the spring seat and leaf spring stack. Unfortunately, we do not offer any lift blocks so you will need to source these elsewhere.

The other option you have would be to install a set of longer leaf spring hangers. This option however will require cutting and welding but will provide a better ride when compared to a set of lift blocks. If this is the option you would like to pursue then please let me know what type of leaf springs you have (slipper/double eye) and how tall the hangers you have now are.

The tallest option we have for 1-3/4" wide double eye leaf springs is part # 115919 which is 5-7/16" tall.
