The K-Source Snap & Zap Custom Towing Mirrors # KS80800 referenced in your question are confirmed to fit your 2003 Chevy Silverado and they will not scratch the backside of your painted factory mirrors. These custom mirrors actually have foam padding inside the housing where it will make contact with the factory mirrors to prevent any kind of scratching or scuffing.
Because these are custom fit mirrors they will also have a really snug fit on the factory units which greatly reduces any movement or vibration during travel to further eliminate any concern of scratching.
I do just recommend making sure the factory mirrors on your Silverado are completely clean and free of dust or debris before installing the towing mirrors.
I have attached an installation video on a 2003 Silverado so you can see exactly how they will attach and look on your truck.
