Question:

I have a 2019 Ford F250 6 3/4foot bed, I want the ability carry an ATV and a kayak at the same time. I need the full bed to fit the ATV, so I think a folding style will work better than a roll up version. I want a quality cover that latches securely, fairly weather proof and fits inside the bed rails. I am interested in the Bakflip MX4 and F1, are there advantages to one over the other? Are there others you would recommend? I also want a rack that will work with the cover. It looks like the Thule Tracrac sliding rack may work, is that correct? Is the rack available in black or only in silver? Are there other options you recommend? Sorry for so many questions. Thanks for your help!

I do have a a couple possible solutions for you, however we have found that covers like the BAKFlip F1 Hard Tonneau Cover # BAK72330 and the MX4 # BAK48330 that you referenced don't quite get along with the SR Thule TracRacs like # TH43003XT-785 for your 2019 Ford F-250. While this particular ladder rack does offer the closest option to work with the BAKFlip since it mounts to the top of the bed rails, we found in our own testing that the rubber strip on the outside of the cover does interfere with the base rails for the rack. This leads to quicker wear on the strip and damage over time.

A ladder rack and tonneau cover combo that will work on your Ford F-250 is the Pace Edwards JackRabbit Hard Tonneau Cover w Explorer Rails and Utility Rack # JEFA18A44-UR3008. This is an all-in-one system that includes both the cover and rack for your truck. The drawback for your particular application though is that it is a retractable cover that retracts completely into a canister that sits against the cab in the truck bed. This is really great for simple and quick complete bed access but the canister will take up around 10 inches of depth in the bed, so if you need every inch for your ATV this may not be the best option.

We do not have a folding tonneau cover available that is compatible with a ladder rack on your Ford F-250.

Your next best option is to simply go with the tonneau cover of your choice such as the BAKFlip F1 # BAK72330 that you were originally looking at (which really is a great option) and a roof rack system that will provide you with a couple crossbars on your cab's roof for which to secure your kayak.
