If you are looking for a good way to help deter theft of the basket, the Thule Canyon TH859XT, I have a great solution for you. Thule offers a lock for each of the connecting mechanisms in part TH450400 to keep thieves from accesing the hardware that holds the basket onto your roof rack. This lock is made of 4 keyed-alike metal lock cylinders to replace the plastic cylinders already on the basket.
