Expert Reply:
4-way trailer wiring connectors like what comes with the Curt kit part # 55323 that you referenced carry the taillight functions of running lights, brake lights, and turn signals but do not carry reverse light circuit. For that you'd have to convert the 4-way to a 5-way with the kit part # 20036. The extra wire of this would get tapped into the reverse light circuit of your vehicle and you'd have all the circuits covered.
