From what I found your 2018 Ford Flex could have a maximum towing capacity up to 4,500 pounds if equipped properly. I recommend checking your owner's manual or with Ford's towing guide and match up the features of your Flex to find its towing capacity.
I recommend the Curt hitch, part # C13110, for your 2018 Ford Flex because it's tucked under the bumper about 3/4 of an inch more than the Draw-Tite hitch. Although they're both pretty visible.
For the wiring start with the 4-way # 118472 because it has more amperage than the other harnesses for your Flex. It plugs in line with the taillights. Take a look at the install video on a 2014 I linked for you to see the process. Then convert the 4-way to a 5-way using part # 47515. It plugs into the 4-way, and you wire the blue wire into your vehicle's reverse light circuit. I've linked an install video of this too. It's on a Nissan but it's a universal part so the process is the same. You'll need a circuit tester, like part # PTW2992, to find the correct wire you need.
I've attached some additional links you might find helpful. Specifically, one about choosing the correct ball mount and another to our selection of ball mounts that fit the 2-inch hitch.
