Question:
I have a 2007 Range Rover sport HSE..i was told by a reputable source all these vehicles come with wiring and connectors to install a electric brake control system. will a tekonsha 3035-s wire harness connect to my tekonsha voyger controller with butt connectors?? Will the voyger model work for that car?? Also all ready have a working 4-flat light wiring Installad.. I intend to cut the 4-flat connector off and combine the braking wires and terminate with a standard 7 prong plug. I have read a few places i may need to go to rover dealer to have them set the computer in order for this to work??? do you know about this?? Thank you

It sounds like your 2007 Land Rover Range Rover Sport came with the factory tow package which means you should be able to install the Tekonsha Voyager Trailer Brake Controller part # 39510 without cutting or splicing. In order to do this you will need to use the Tekonsha Plug-In Wiring Adapter part # 3035-P, not part # 3035-S. The plug that this harness will connect to should be located up under the dash near the emergency brake pedal or OBDII port.
Once you get the brake controller installed you can then convert the 4-way flat to a 7-way RV which will be used on most trailers with electric drum brakes. In order to do this the best option we have is the 7-Way RV and 4-Way Flat Adapter part # ETBC7. This kit comes with everything you need to install a 7-way on your Range Rover.
I have not specifically heard of your Range Rover requiring any programming from the dealer but it may be possible. You won't really know until you get everything installed but I don't see why it would be if using the 7-Way RV and 4-Way Flat Adapter.
