Does Going with Higher Rated Brake Assembly Give you Additional Braking Strength
Updated 10/29/2018 | Published 10/28/2018 >
Question:
are the magnets different in power
asked by: Charles H
Helpful Expert Reply:
The magnets between differing trailer brake assembly capacities aren't more powerful than each other so much as they are different in sensitivity. You don't gain any power going with a higher rated assembly than you need. You actually just end up with a harder to adjust braking setup. It will seem like either the brakes are applying to hard or too soft without any middle ground. That's why your best option is to go with the exact capacity you need.
