Recommended Trailer Hitch for 2019 VW Jetta

For your 2019 VW Jetta I recommend the Curt Class I Round Tube Receiver Hitch # C11540. This is actually the only hitch currently available that is confirmed to fit your Jetta. It will use existing holes in the vehicle's frame for a no-drill installation and will work perfectly for hitch-mounted accessories like a bike rack or cargo carrier.

Please note that if you are planning to use the hitch for a non-trailer load like a bike rack or cargo carrier Curt does require that you use a stabilizing strap # 18050 to further secure the unit. I have attached a short video demonstration on this strap so you can see exactly how it is used.

When looking for a bike rack or cargo carrier you will just want to make sure it is compatible with a Class I trailer hitch. Also keep in mind that a Class I hitch cannot safely support more than 2 bikes. In case you were still looking for that perfect rack, I really like the Kuat Transfer # KU74FR. This is a platform-style rack that features ratcheting hooks to secure the bikes by their front wheel without any frame contact. Its convenient foot pedal allows you to easily tilt the rack back (with the bikes still loaded) for quick rear cargo access.
