What Gauge Wire to Use on a 4-Way with LED Lights with a 30 Foot Trailer

Question:

Is 18 or 20 gauge better for LED light set tail/stop/turn/side, clearance and ID pulling total .9 amps with 4-way wishbone on 30 foot trailer? Thanks.

How many amps does each circuit draw in total? In order to find this you would need to first find the amp draw of each circuit on each light and then multiply that by the number of total circuits. You would need to do this for the running light, left stop/turn, and right stop/turn circuits. There are then charts you can look up online which will tell you what gauge of wire to use based on both the length of wire and total amp draw.

With all that being said, as long as you do not exceed 2 amps total on each circuit then you should use a 16 gauge wire part # 16-4B-1 for a 30' trailer.
