Troubleshooting Thule Replacement Key Not Fully Seating in Roof Cargo Box

Question:
hey i just recieved my thule key ,,, but wil not fit my Frontier locks ,, lock is R053 ,, key is N053 .. will not even fit into the barrel of the lock ,,,?

The Thule Replacement Key # THKEYN053 is a fit for your Thule Frontier but is a bit longer than the original key. In order to make the replacement key work, insert the key in the lock and tap the key in with a rubber mallet in order to fully seat the key. This will only need to be done the first time the key is used.
