The flat towing procedures needed to safely tow your 2018 Ford Edge are all outlined in the owners manual. Typically on vehicles with push button starts to get the vehicle to unlock the steering wheel you need to have the key in the car, and without pressing the brake of the vehicle press the start button once. That will put it in ACC mode which should unlock the steering wheel. This is also the case for your 2018 Ford Edge.
There are many versions of the 2018 Ford Edge which makes picking out the correct base plate kit for it a bit more involved. What you'll want to do is check out the link I attached and select your vehicle configuration from the drop down menu and you'll see the correct kit you'll need.
