Solution for Carrying a 2006 Honda Reflex NSS250 on Trailer Hitch Receiver of Class C Motorhome
Published 10/02/2018 >
Question:
Hello, I am replying to someone elses question. I bought the Ultra Fab RV carrier as did this customer. But my 2006 Honda Reflex NSS250 doesnt appear to fit due to the front brake disk. I was totally broken heartd. I went back to this FAQ to see what I did wrong and then I noticed their picture. Their front tire is not seated in the hitch frame as the instructions tell us to..... Attached are the original pictures red honda and Ive attached my pics blue honda. I took the rack off my vehicle for safety purposes to take photos. But basically if I seat the wheel as instructed, the brake disc hits the frame and causes the bike to tilt note safety pin is dropped. Is it safe for the bike and the carrier for the bike to rub note scratches on frame? Or is it safe and better to secure the bike as this customer red honda has done?

Thanks for the photos. The Ultra Fab motorcycle carrier part # UF48-979033 is not designed for scooters and the manufacturer does require the front tire of the bike rest in the cradle and be secured with the safety pin in case tie-down straps come loose. Based on your photos that is not going to be an option if you desire to carry your 2006 Honda Reflex NSS250 scooter on the carrier. You would need to use the two bolts to hold the tire up so there is not contact with the brake rotor. You would then need to secure the front tire with something other than the pin to account for tie-down strap failure.
A better option for your situation is the etrailer Motorcycle Carrier w/ Ramp for 2" Hitch - 76" Long - Steel - 500 lbs Item # e98873 which is designed for both motorcycles and scooters. It does not require that safety pin so it will not interfere with your brakes.
