Does Rear Frame Brace of 2017 Audi A4 Allroad Have to Remove to Install Curt Hitch
Updated 09/25/2018 | Published 09/22/2018 >
Question:
Im about to install the #C11448 hitch on my 2017 Allroad and theres an exterior brace under the trunk pan. This will conflict with the hitch and needs to be cut or removed. Are there issues with removing the brace or should the rib be cut and then the flat piece left in place between the trunk pan and the hitch?

I sent the pictures you sent to us to Curt to see if they had any insight and they had not seen that brace before. They said that it looked like an aftermarket frame brace. They said most likely if you returned the vehicle back to stock and removed the brace you'd be fine, but they hadn't tested it so they couldn't guarantee that. It looks like it could pretty easily removed. And with the way the hitch installs it would more or less give you the same type of bracing.
