Safety Chains Hooks for a 2018 Chevy Denali HD

Question:
Sir, I just purchased a 2018 Denali HD for towing a max weight travel trailer of 8000 ponds. The hook on my TT is to small to fit the trailer hitch on the HD truck. Im looking for a hook or hook and chain that I can adapt to my trailer\truck. What advice can you provide? Thanks,

It sounds like the hooks on your safety chains are not large enough to fit around the safety chain loops on your trailer hitch. If that is the case then I recommend the Buyers Products 3/8" x 35" Class 4 Trailer Safety Chain part # 337B03835SC which have fairly large clevis hooks that should fit around the safety chain loops on your trailer hitch.
If you try to adapt the safety chains you have now then you will more than likely create a weak point in the chain which is why I recommend replacing them all together. I have attached a photo of the clevis hook to show you its size. You will need two chains.
