Can the Rack'Em Tailgate Lift Assist # RA-27C be Unhooked Easily for Custom Folding Ramp

Question:

i had a custom open trailer made. i had them design it where the ramp gate will fold all the way inward and lay flat on the trailer bed. If i use the ra-27c once i lift the ramp gate to an up right position would i be able to remove the chain if i use some type of quick disconnect snap ring or ? to allow the ramp to continue forward and lay flat on the bed?. Or in the upright position will it still have to much tension on it? i only lay it flat inwards when it is in storage other wise it is like a normal utility ramp gate. it is just heavy to lift from the ground to a vertical position. 1 PICTURE IS IN ITS NORMAL POSITION THE OTHER IS FOLDED ALL THE WAY IN FLAT ON THE BED SO I CAN BACK IT UNDER MY BIG TRAILER FOR STORAGE. The Rack'Em Double Barrel Utility Trailer Tailgate Lift Assist # RA-27C actually uses a chain and clip system to connect to your ramp so you may not need to come up with your own quick-disconnect system.

When your trailer ramp is in the vertical position that is when there is the least amount of tension on the lift assist so you should be able to unhook it.
