Is There a Way to Install Hitch on 2017 Subaru Forester that Involves Removing Foam

Question:

It appears the the Draw tight hitch can be installed by removing the foam sections to the sides of the spare tire. Could anyone explain how to remove the 2 rivets on each side?

We have had a few customers come back and tell us about an alternate way they come up with to install the Draw Tite Hitch part # 75876 on their vehicles like your 2017 Subaru Forester. Since this isn't the recommended way to install it from Draw Tite the best I can do is attach the review we got from the customer who described the process as well as attach a link to an install video for this hitch. You'll need to decide which way you'd want to go with. We have to recommend you stick with the manufacturer's instructions.
