Question:

I notice that the clearance when folded up is 7inch from the rack to the hitch lock. Will this fit a Range Rover Sport without needing an extension?

As long as you have 7 inches from the center of the hitch pin on your 2016 Land Rover Range Rover Sport to the outside edge of your rear bumper the Kuat NV # NV22G would fit and have clearance to fold up. Judging by what install pictures look like for the hitches for your vehicle like the Curt # C13243 I don't think you'd have an issue, but since I don't know what hitch you have your best option will be to measure to find out for sure.
