Trailer Height Adjustment for Compatibility with 2018 Chevy Silverado 2500
Question:
I have a 2013 Coachman Chaparral with a Reese Goosebox hitch. I have just purchased a 2018 Chevy 2500HD truck and installed a BandW gooseneck ball. When I hook up to 5thwheel now I only have 2 inches clearance. I can change the clearance with the mounting holes, but the front of the trailer will be very high and not level. Will this cause problems towing or with the refridgerator?

For your 5th wheel with Goose Box on and your new truck, I recommend adjusting the pin box for the clearance needed as 2 inches is not enough. Then you can adjust your trailer height using the Dexter Trailer Springs Over-Under Conversion Kit # K71-384-00 to add height to your trailer by flipping your axles.
You do want your trailer to be as level as possible when towing. Another help may be to use the 1" High-Rise Ball for B&W Turnoverball Gooseneck Trailer Hitch - 2-5/16" # BWGNXA2050.
Towing far out of level can eventually cause issues with your refrigerator, but you would have towing issues that would be an issue far before the refrigerator operation would be impacted.
