Trailer Hitch and Bike Rack for 4 Bikes for a 2018 Mitsubishi RVR

Question:

I have a 2018 RVR. Can you recommend a hitch for a bike rack, 4 bikes, and a bike rack? No towing. And I don't want to have to use any straps if possible.

I will be happy to help. For your 2018 Mitsubishi RVR I recommend etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e63AR. This is a Class III hitch with a 2 inch receiver so it will be great for a bike rack and 4 bikes. You will not have to use a stabilization strap with this hitch.

For a bike rack there are basically 2 major styles: hanging and platform. A hanging bike rack holds the bikes by the frame where they will "hang" from the rack arm(s). Platform style racks hold the bikes at the wheels and some also at the frame, so the bikes are not hanging. Platform racks are easier to load but the racks themselves are generally heavier and much larger than hanging racks.

For a hanging bike rack the Thule Hitching Post Pro # TH934XTR is a great option. It holds 4 bikes, can tilt down, and features anti-sway cradles. An all-around solid bike rack. I have linked a video review of this rack for you.

For a platform rack I recommend the Saris Freedom # SA4414B. This 4-bike rack supports the bikes at the wheels and also holds on to them at the frame. This rack also tilts but can fold up as well. I have also linked a video of this bike rack for you.
