Question:
What color is the cold brake wire for a 2013 equinox

Expert Reply:
The best and safest way to determine which wire is the cold side of the brake light switch on your 2013 Chevy Equinox is to simply test them with a circuit tester like # PTW2993. You are looking for the wire above the brake pedal that only receives power with the brake pedal depressed and no power with any other function. The correct wire on earlier model years of your Equinox was light blue with possibly a white stripe. You can start by testing this wire.
Since vehicle manufacturers often change up the color wiring they use at the factory, it is always best to test for function even if you have a good idea as to what color the correct wire might be.
