Does Drop Spindle Add Clearance?

Question:
Since this lowers the axle relative to the wheel center, how does this improve ground clearance? Wouldnt it lower the trailer, reducing ground clearance?

You are correct, the Dexter Trailer Axle Beam with 4" Drop E-Z Lube Spindles # 7685269 does lower the trailer. The clearance is the clearance of the spindle from the axle, as you can see in the accompanying photo.
