Will the Thule Hullavator work on my 2017 Toyota Prius Prime with factory installed roof rack?

I do have an option for you to use the Thule Hullavator Pro Kayak Carrier part # TH898 on your 2017 Toyota Prius Prime but it will not work with the factory roof rack because it needs 4-8" of crossbar that extends past the mounting feet. In order to use the Hullavator on your Prius Prime you would need to remove the factory roof rack and install an aftermarket roof rack that meets the above criteria like the Thule WingBar System which is composed of part # TH711400, part # TH710501, and part # TH145029. This system has aero shaped cross bars which are both wind resistant and less noisy than other bar shapes. It also comes with a lifetime warranty. If you would like to add locks then you can do so with the Thule One-Key System Lock Cylinders part # TH450200.

If you would like to use your factory roof rack to carry a kayak then I recommend the Malone DownLoader Kayak Carrier part # MPG114MD with the Malone TelosXL Load Assist Module part # MPG351XL. This system is not as integrated as the Hullavator but it will help you load your kayak without requiring aftermarket crossbars.
