Question:
I have a 2013 BMW 128i series convertible with a 11184 trailer hitch already installed. It appears that either the top BEAM mount studs were never installed or installed improperly on both sides. The other HEX nutslower w/ lock washers are holding well but I want to ensure the installation is secure, to do so I need two HEX nuts to fit. I know theyre 12mmM12 but need to determine whether course or fine threads and their pitch.... Can you supply that information so I can fix this problem?

The bumper beam mount studs on the 2013 BMW 128i are part of the factory bumper beam/trunk panel mount assembly. If they are not present then someone on the assembly line wasn't paying attention! The hitch installation should not have been completed if those studs were missing.
The nuts could have been cross-threaded on which would mean that the threads on the studs would have to be re-cut. Regardless to get the properly rated nuts for the hitch you will need # RHK. Enter the hitch number and manufacturer on the RHK page to get the proper hardware. You can't use just any nut even if it has the right threads. It also has to be properly rated for the application.
