Im looking for crossbars system that can either install across the bed. I have a soft.tonnou cover that I would like to not get rid off. I seen rhino has the rail system but I wonder if I can mount on the truck bed side covers. My tonnou sits inside the bed not over the rail. Need help.

Although we don't have a roof rack system that would side on top of the side rails of your 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, we do have a ladder rack solution that will be compatible with your tonneau cover since it sits inside your bed rails.
The ladder rack is from Thule and is the TracRac SR which utilizes a base rail that sits on top of your bed rails and allows you to slide the ladder rack portion along it for your custom application. The ladder rack itself is the same while the base rail changes depending on your bed length:
For 5' 8" bed use part # TH43002XT-782
For 6' 6" bed use part # TH43002XT-781
For 8' bed use part # TH43002XT-780
