Best Trunk Mounted Bike Rack for a 2018 Mercedes-Benz GLA-250

Question:

Hi, I noticed your comment on the Hatch Hugger adapter for the GLA 250. I was wondering if it would work anyway, even though theres a better solution with the Hollywood adapter, since the anchoring is from the inside, so on the metal part of the car, not the plastic rear spoiler? Can I do it as I have the Saris Bone and dont really want to buy a different rack. Thanks

The Hatch Huggers for Saris Trunk Mount Bike Racks part # SA3035 that you referenced are an alternative for the metal coated hooks that are included with most Saris trunk mount bike racks. They are used when the hooks would be attached to a glass or plastic surface to prevent damaged. The problem you have with your 2018 Mercedes-Benz GLA-250 is that the straps would create too much downward pressure on the spoiler which would in turn cause damage. Therefore, the Hatch Huggers nor will any adapter allow you to use a Saris trunk mount bike rack on your GLA-250.

The only bike rack that is designed to be used on your vehicle is one that attaches up and over the rear spoiler for which we have the Hollywood Racks Over-the-Top Bike Rack part # HRF2 for two bikes or part # HRF2-3 for three bikes. This is truly the best trunk mounted bike rack we have for your vehicle, as well as the only. It is also a much better rack than the Saris trunk mount bike racks in my opinion.
