Question:
I like the Darby Extend a Truck solution, but it is not wide enough. I have two fishing kayaks each being about 30 inch wide. Do you have any suggestions?

If you like the idea of having one crossbar on the roof of your 2012 Ram 2500 along with a goalpost style upright then I do have a solution for you.
For a single crossbar on your Ram you need the 2500 Series Legs # RRRLKVAH, the DK Fit Kit # DK043H, and a 65" long crossbar like part # RRVA165S for silver or # RRVA165B for black. This has a weight capacity of 80 lbs.
Once you have your crossbar then you simply need the Yakima LongArm # Y01149 which has a crossbar that is 60" wide and has a height of 46-3/4" from the center of the hitch pin hole. If you need additional height then you will want to go with the LongArm with the Extender # Y01149-1150. For tie downs you could use the Thule # TH855XT.
Attached is a review video of the LongArm for you to check out.
