Nope, there's nothing special you'll need to install T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118698 in your 2017 Kia Sportage.

This harness will plug in behind your Kia's tail lights and once you connect the hot lead to the battery you'll be set, as you can see in the linked install video.

For a trailer hitch, the etrailer # e72TR is a great option; it is a Class III 2" hitch that is a bolt-on installation so no drilling into your Kia's frame will be required. I also recommend checking out Ball Mount Kit # 989900, which is for 2” hitches and may fulfill your towing needs in one tidy package; two ball mounts - one with a 3/4” rise or 2” drop and the other with a 2-3/4” rise or 4” drop - a 1-7/8” hitch ball, a 2” hitch ball, and a pin and clip.
