Installation of Yakima HangOut Trunk Mount Bike Rack on a 2018 Jeep Renegade

Question:

I installed the hangout 2 on my 2018 Jeep Renegade but then I noticed that my hatch door won’t close all the way with it installed. The car senses something in the door so it pops itself back open. I tried installing the rack without opening the door, but there isn’t room to get to hooks on without opening it. Any suggestions for how to get the door to actually close and stay closed?

To install the Yakima HangOut, part # Y02637, on your 2016 Jeep Renegade you need to use the Glass Hatch Hook accessory in place of the upper strap hooks.

I also verified with Yakima that the HangOut is a fit for your Renegade.
