Hi, could you please help by suggesting how I could firmly fix a Hobie Mirage Oasis tandem kayak onto the only 30 inch i.e. more narrow than the kayak original cross bars of Infinity QX70? Thanks much!!!

Your best option to safely load your Hobie Mirage Oasis Tandem Kayak onto the roof of your 2015 Infiniti QX70 may be to remove the factory crossbars and install a longer set. If your QX70 features factory raised side rails, I recommend the 50 inch Malone AirFlow2 Roof Rack # MPG215.

Because of the size/design and weight of your Hobie Mirage (over 100 pounds based on my research), a J-style carrier that will hold the kayak on its side won't be possible, so you will need longer crossbars to accommodate the full width of the kayak. I also recommend checking the owner's manual for your Infiniti QX70 just to verify that the roof can handle the weight of your kayak.

With the crossbars installed, you can use a kayak pad like the Rhino-Rack # RRRWP05 to support the kayak on the crossbars. These comes with 2 tie-downs with cam buckles to secure the kayak to the bars. I have attached a video demonstration on this product so you can see exactly how they work.
