Question:
What is your recommendation for a 2006 Dodge Ram Mega cab 4x4 5.7L Hemi non-MDS for use in CA? I can decide between Superchips and Edge, what are the pros and cons of each of these for this application. I’m more concerned with increasing torque as this truck is mainly used to tow my travel trailer. Thanks for any insight or advice.

The Superchips Flashpaq # SU4845 and Edge EvoHT2 # EP86040 are essentially the same tuner just with a different look. Both companies are under the same parent company umbrella. Both are approved for use in California, and both have pre-programmed tunes, one of which is specifically for towing.
The pros of both are that they are hand held so you won't have to have either one permanently mounted. Despite being small each is packed with features. And compared to other tuners they have a relatively low cost. The cons are that the screens are smaller than many other tuners. And the amount of customization and parameters you can monitor are limited compared to more advanced options. Personally I like the Flashpaq tuners and I recommend them often so if it were me I would go with # SU4845.
