Question:
Can a dual hitch extender like the MaxxTow Dual Hitch Extender be used upside downinch to provide a for the trailer ball? Specifically, I am looking for a solution that allows me to put the bike rack at the level of the RVs hitch and the tongue for towing a Malone kayak trailer at the lower level. I am wondering if the second receiver off the main axis could take the strain of a light ~350 lb, 40 lb tongue weight trailer.

I do have an option for you but the MaxxTow Dual Hitch Extender MT70070 cannot be flipped and used for towing. This adapter will also reduce your hitch's weight capacity by 50 percent. Instead, I recommend taking a look at the MaxxTow Ball Mount w/ 2" Accessory Receiver part # MT70066 which will be one of the very few options we have for you that will allow you to both tow a trailer and carry a bike rack without reducing the capacity of your hitch. As long as you do not exceed the 500 lb tongue weight (TW) and 5,000 lb gross trailer weight (GTW) rating than this ball mount will work well for you. To add a hitch ball you can use part # C40051 for 1-7/8" or part # 63845 for 2".
Unfortunately, we do not have options that will allow you to tow the trailer lower than the trailer hitch opening while also carrying a bike rack. Doing this would also more than likely cause the trailer to be unlevel.
