To replace your 1,700 lb Shelby 5407B winch I recommend the Dutton-Lainson Single Speed Winch # DL14627 which is rated for 1,800 lbs.
This winch features permanently lubricated bearings, high carbon steel gears, and a Zinc TUFFPLATE finish for corrosion resistance. The drum can handle up to a 9/32" x 58' cable or a 38' strap, is made in the USA, and comes with a 5-year limited warranty.
For a compatible cable I recommend part # DL24045 and for a strap I recommend part # DL24249.

I have a Bayliner Capri which I think is about 2000 lb but have the Shelby 5407 winch. It is hard bringing the boat in if the water is shallow. What would be a better winch for this?
