For your 2012 Ram 3500 short bed my favorite hitch to recommend is the Demco Hijacker Autoslide part # DM8550035 as it has a 21k capacity and will slide automatically as you make tight turns to give you the turning clearance you need.
To install it in your 2012 Ram 3500 what you need is a custom install rail kit like the part # DM8552015-71 which has been confirmed as a fit. Custom install kits are the way to go as they allow you to install the kit easier with drilling minimized.
