Does 12 Volt Accessory Circuit of 7-Way Have to Be Ran for Brake Controller to Function

Question:
I dont seem to be getting power from the power buster box does that affect the brakes

The 12 volt accessory circuit of a 7-way is a totally separate circuit from the brake output circuit for the trailer's brakes. Either circuit can work with the other not wired up.
