Yakima 3 Trunk Bike Racks are the Locks for When Driving or For Security

Question:
Will the Yakima FullBack 3 bike rack work for my car? I will only carry 2 bikes most of the time is this okay? Is the lock for added protection when driving, or for theft of bike or theft of rack. I have CX3 2016

The Yakima FullBack, part # Y02633 is a confirmed fit your your 2016 Mazda CX-3.
The Yakima FullBack includes integrated bike and rack locks, which provide improved security as an anti-theft device for the bike and racks. They secure the rack to your trunk and the bikes to the rack to deter theft when left unattended.
It would be just fine to carry only 2 bikes on this rack, then have the option of 3 bikes when needed. That sounds like a smart plan.
