Question:
I am looking at purchasing a 2011 Chevy Colorado. It is NOT equipped from the factory with the tow package. Could you please point me in the right direction to what wiring harness I would need to wire it for trailer lights ? I would like both a 7 way and a 4 way plug all in one if possible. Thanks for your time.

For a fully functional 4-Way and 7-Way combined connector on a 2011 Chevrolet Colorado without the tow package you would need to start off with the Tekonsha T-One # 118301. This gives you the basic lighting functions for your trailer and allows you to install the Universal Wiring Kit # ETBC7. The ETBC7 kit comes with everything that you need for a fully functioning 4-Way and 7-Way combined connector.
To complete your towing setup you also need a trailer hitch and a ball mount/hitch ball. I recommend going with the Class III Draw-Tite # 75607 trailer hitch and an adjustable ball mount like the B&W # BWTS10033B. A locking hitch pin like part # BX8858 is then recommended to help deter theft of your ball mount.
If you were also looking into getting a brake controller then I recommend the Prodigy P3 # 90195 which is a proportional brake controller and has received amazing reviews from our customers.
Attached are some helpful videos and articles including a video of the Primus IQ # TK90160 and # ETBC7 being installed on a 2005 Colorado. The installation of the Primus IQ will be the exact same for the Prodigy P3.
